Love Life
Hard Work
This quote is from a speech Ashton Kutcher made at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards. He actually said “Opportunity looks a lot like hard work,” but it stuck in my head as success. I think that’s true too though. Opportunities turn into success with hard work. This is true of all kinds of success. Success at work obviously requires hard work no matter what the job is. Success in your marriage requires you to continuously work on your marriage. Success with friendships requires you to put time into the friendship. Success with fitness and health requires hard work. You aren’t going to get anywhere with any of these things if you just sit back and wait for something good to happen to you. YOU are in control of both your success and your failure. Nobody else. You. So if you want more, you have to work for it!
If you haven’t seen this video, you need to. It is so incredibly inspiring. I liked Ashton Kutcher before this video, but my respect and admiration for him grew exponentially when I saw this speech. He is such a positive person.
Footprints On My Heart
In high school I was big into poetry. I had a diary for a while but I didn’t really keep up with it. How I got all my emotions and feelings out was through poetry. This is my attempt at getting back into it.

I wrote this shortly after moving back to Colorado. I was thinking about my friends in Colorado and in Washington and the impact everyone has made on me. I was thinking about how some people stay in our lives for a short while and some a long while, and some seem to come in and out of our lives. But everyone makes an impact. Everyone is important. So this goes out to all my friends: past, present and future!
