Well, you made it! It’s 2026. A new year of possibilities. A year of new beginnings. A year we will look back on and realize that’s when the new version, the real authentic version, of us finally began having the courage to shine brightly. In this post, we are going to go over the Numerology and Chinese symbols for 2025 vs 2026. And then dive into the Numerology energy of January 2026 in particular. Buckle up!
Numerology
2025 = 2 + 0 + 2 + 5 = 9. 9 years are years of endings and completions. It is also a year of understanding. We have made it through all the previous cycles, have come to some sort of understanding, learned the lessons of that cycle, and now that cycle is complete. At the end of a 9 year, we are ready to give back to the universe some measure of what we have learned through the previous 8 cycles. We must make the final selection of what we take with us into the future and what is waste. This could have been a year of letting go of friendships or relationships, changing houses, changing careers, figuring out self-limiting beliefs or self-sabotaging behavior that has held you back, releasing addictions. As it is a year of endings and completions, there could have been a lot of grief associated with 2025 and you may still be processing that grief as you head into 2026, but at the same time be ready to let even the grief go and start fresh. 2026 = 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10 = 1. 1 is the start of the new cycle representing new beginnings, decision and independence. It is a pioneering energy, seeking to strike out alone and experience its distinct identity. It is a raw energy, positive and creative and in a state of perpetual motion. It is a number marking a time of getting things off the ground and going. It is an energy of leadership & pioneering. You have the ability to separate yourself from your environment and choose the path you want to take. This energy reveals the power and strength you have within you. Only you can determine your future. It’s time to release all victim mentality and take charge of your life. As I like to say “wherever you go, there you are.” This may be the year you finally realize that. Not only is it a year to take action, but to do so with a long term vision in mind, because this is the year that sets the tone for the next 8 cycles. This is the foundation year. Take pause and contemplate on that before acting to rashly or suddenly, which 1 energy can sometimes do. This is a great time to develop new skills, promote your ideas and believe in yourself. Your most important experiences this year will be the ones that you initiate. This is the year to act on your dreams!
January 2026 Monthly Numerology: 1 (year #) + 1 (month #) = 2. Although the overall energy of 2026 is a 1, the energy of January begins us off on the vibration of 2. This marks a period of gestation, cooperation, diplomacy and self-knowledge. This is when new beginnings and new seeds are planted, but aren’t starting to take shape yet. Its when things are brewing under the surface. Although there is a lot going on in the sky, and many new cycles starting (see the Astrology section below), this is meant to be a passive and receptive time to reflect and listen to the voice of your subconscious mind. This is where these seeds are being planted, and these seeds can either cause strife, dissension, disagreements, or peace, cooperation, beauty and coming together. The future still seems a little unclear and foggy at this point, so making choices is best to hold off until the next cycle. From the book “Numerology and the Divine Triangle” it says that “memories are a prime motivation for your actions now. Don’t become trapped in unhappy memories or unconscious past conditioning. Instead use the stored wisdom from your past experiences to resolve snags in a partnership, mediation or cooperative effort. We communicate with others through the subconscious. Memories stored in that subconscious determine our response to conditions, situations, and people. Examine your reactions to others now, for this period tests your ability to co-exist.” Telepathic communication may occur. Since this is such a receptive time, it is great time for creative people, such as artists, inventors and mystics to expand their consciousness through various techniques. This is also a period of wisdom in which you can start to see the true I AM of self. Enter this month with calm, silent contemplation. Let things percolate and understand them before taking action.
Chinese Symbology
2025 = Wood Snake
2025 in the Chinese Zodiac mirrored the same themes of it being a 9 year in numerology. The wood snake represented themes of wisdom, transformation, growth & creativity. What does a snake do? It sheds its skin, it releases, it transforms.
2026 = Fire Horse
The Chinese New Year doesn’t begin until February 17th this year, but when the year changes on that date, we will enter into the year of the Fire Snake according to their astrology. This brings in themes of rapid transformation, bold action and building on the path cleared out by the previous year of the snake. It brings breakthroughs, fast paced change, and encourages people to pursue ambitions and desires and embody transformation.
Astrology of January 2026
All of that is before we even begin to look at the astrology of 2026! I am still working on taking a deep dive on the month to month astrology of 2026, but the biggest part of 2026 is that all the outer planets – the ones that are slower moving and mark collective change – are moving into their new signs for good (i.e. for their long cycles in a sign). In 2025 we saw these outer planets move into their new signs, giving us an idea, a glimpse perhaps, of where we might be going or want to go. Then they all went retrograde back into the sign they had been for the last 2 years (in the case of Saturn), 7-8 years (Uranus), and 14 years (Neptune). Pluto moved into Aquarius and stayed there, where it will be the next 20 or so years. The fact that all these generational planets that indicate the larger cycles of humanity are changing signs in the same year is big. The energies we were moving through in 2025 was the closing out of many cycles. We were purging. Not only on a personal level, but also a generational level. I believe we were/are purging cycles, not only from our most recent ancestors (familial patterns and such), but also closing out thousand year old cycles of humanity as a whole. 2026, with all these planets starting fresh at the same time, is giving us the opportunity to truly cut ties with the past and build something better, more sustainable, where we remain sovereign in ourselves and are unable to be manipulated, hoodwinked and fall victim to propaganda. It is when we become more in tune to our intuition and we can feel and discern the lies. I see a continued dismantling of old systems and the rise of new ones, especially through the first half of the year. The second half of 2026 I believe is when we will be able to really start rebuilding, once all outer planets have moved into their new signs. But this goes for you too. 2026 will be the year you look back on and say “Everything changed that year. That’s when I left my past behind and learned to embody who I am today.”
