Taurus New Moon

On Sunday, April 27th, we have a New Moon in Taurus. New Moons are all about New Beginnings and this Taurus area of your chart has been getting wonderfully supportive aspects all month long to Uranus. You may have been feeling some shake ups and things moving around here and it’s been doing it for your benefit. Now, hopefully you have some ideas about what is trying to blossom here and you are ready to set some intentions. But first, let’s look at the rest of what is going on with this New Moon as it carries some powerful energy with it.

T-Square with the 3rd & Final Mars-Pluto Opposition

I swear the theme over the last 6 months or so has been cycles of 3 – which carries the energy of the Trinity, which is pretty awesome if you think about. God/Spirit/The Divine/The Universe – however you want to identify it has really been working with us on SO many levels with the three iterations of Venus, Mercury & Mars interacting and talking with Neptune, Saturn, & the N. Node 3 times, and now we also have the Mars-Pluto opposition happening for the 3rd and final time as well. And all of those 3rd iterations are culminating in April. We truly are being reprogrammed on all levels.

If you have early degrees of the fixed signs – Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, & Scorpio you will definitely be feeling this New Moon, and this Mars-Leo opposition the most. The first time we had this opposition in this cycle was back in late October/early November, then again when Mars was retrograde in early January, and now the final opposition. These two planets are both planets of power: Mars is more our personal power and it is in Leo where the energy is more about our own identity and uniqueness and creative flare and our desire for being seen for our uniqueness in this world, and Pluto is more about power dynamics and struggles with others in Aquarius where the energy is more about the collective and ask the question of how do we bring our personal flare into the world and serve the collective with it. It’s wanting to be part of the whole, but wanting to be unique. It’s wanting to fit in, but be seen as an individual. And on a collective level its playing out as the power struggle between the institutions and the people. Mars is also about our desires and our will power and motivations and Pluto is about transformation, digging for truth, uncovering hidden things. So there is also that energy opposing each other here as well.

This opposition is creating a T-Square with the New Moon. Oppositions are where we are being asked to balance things out and come to agreements and squares are asking us to make a decision on something and to grow. In a T-Square, the focal point (which would be the New Moon in Taurus) is where the energy should be focused. So we are being asked to evaluate how this dynamic and potentially explosive energy of the Mars-Pluto opposition can be focused on building a bridge and new beginnings in Taurus. Basically, how can we ground in this energy where we can make tangible sense of it and use it to our benefit. That is what I believe the question we are being asked is.

Venus is Directing the Show

After looking at what aspects the New Moon is making, we then look to see what the ruler of the New Moon is doing. The Ruler of this New Moon is Venus. As I’ve said again and again, Venus is the star this month! Venus is just coming off of it’s 3rd and final conjunction with Saturn that it had a few days prior. Saturn wants Venus to develop boundaries around money, finances, self-worth, self-value and relationships. Venus has been going through this transformation and the cosmic alignment of Venus and Saturn for the 3rd time is Saturn really helping Venus figure out how to ground in and build this new value system on solid ground and give it a back bone. They are both still within a couple degrees of the North Node bringing in that energy as well. All three (Venus, Saturn & N. Node) are in a sextile with Uranus in Taurus, continuing this activation of shaking things up and bringing more and more unexpected things to the Taurus area of your chart (and collectively to our financial markets, resources, and value systems). Again, these shake-ups, collectively and personally, although potentially unsettling and a bit confusing and maybe even a little destabilizing at times are meant for our highest and best good and to force us to let go of the old to embrace the new (embodying the chang-over of the Pisces energy to the birth of the Aries energy). This is where we are grounding it all in. Aries is where we are showing up and taking action, Taurus is where we are grounding it in. Uranus is not only helping us with the shake-up of the old Pisces energy that is leaving (as well as the new energy coming in there with the North Node – think subconscious programming shifts, shifts in how we rest and think of self care, etc), but it’s also in a beautiful trine to the S. Node in Virgo which is asking us to let go of our need to know all the details, to have everything be perfect, to be overly critical of ourselves and others, and to just open our arms wide and lean back into a free fall of trust. Trusting that the light will prevail over the darkness, trust that our higher selves and our higher power has it figured it out, and that as long as we keep taking steps forward and leaning into the synchronicities and clues we are being given, we will end up right where we are supposed to.

A few days after this New Moon, on the last day of the month, Venus will finally enter Aries where it can start to get to work. So set your intentions now, so by the time this happens you can really get going on taking action……..

5 Tips to Work With This Energy & Ground It In

  1. Kylego Journal Exercise – Have you ever heard of Kylego or Kyle Cease? If not, you should look him up. He’s got this exercise where you pretend it’s a year from now and talk about all the amazing things that have happened this last year as if it’s already been done. So you start with, “I remember the Taurus New Moon in April 2025. I set these intentions and then this happened and then this and then this, and now here I am now. It has been incredible to get everything I wanted…” Something like that. It’s a very powerful exercise as it rewires your brain.
  2. Work with the Earth Element – Since the Taurus New Moon is in the earth element, working with the earth element is a great way to work with this energy & ground it in. You could go on a walk or hike or do something to be outside. Be in the garden. Just plant your feet on the bear earth. Hug a tree. Pick some flowers. Any of those things will work.
  3. Affirm your worth – Practice affirmations that reinforce your value and self-worth, aligning with Venus’s influence. Some examples could be:
    • “I am worthy of love, abundance, and success in all areas of my life.”
    • “I embrace my unique qualities and recognize the value I bring to the world.”
    • “I am open to receiving love, support, and prosperity, and I trust that the universe is guiding me towards what I deserve.”
    • “My self-worth is not defined by external circumstances; I am whole and enough as I am.”
    • “I honor my boundaries and create space for the relationships and opportunities that align with my true value.”
    • “I trust in my ability to manifest what is meant for me with grace and confidence.”
    • “I am deserving of financial abundance, love, and all the blessings that come my way.”
    • “I release any limiting beliefs about my worth and embrace the infinite possibilities available to me.”
  4. Set SMART Goals. SMART stands for:
    • Specific: Clearly define what you want to accomplish.
    • Measurable: Set criteria to track progress and know when you’ve achieved it.
    • Achievable: Ensure the goal is realistic and attainable.
    • Relevant: Make sure the goal aligns with your broader values and intentions.
    • Time-bound: Set a deadline to stay focused and motivated.
    • Using the SMART framework helps you create structured, realistic, and actionable goals that you can track and achieve.
  5. Continue to release what no longer serves you. Let go of habits or beliefs that hinder your growth, creating space for new opportunities. Use meditation tools, journaling, seeking a therapist, seeking tarot or astrology readings. Anything that will help you connect more to yourself will help you be able to identify and navigate letting go of habits that hinder your growth.
