Virgo Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse: The Reckoning of What We Choose
Lunar Eclipses are not your average Full Moons. While every Full Moon brings a culmination of energy, eclipses open portals of transformation—destined moments where we are asked to step into alignment with our soul’s path. Unlike regular Full Moons, which shine a light on what has been growing and give us an opportunity to see what we might need to adjust and let go of so that we can continue to move forward in the best way possible, Lunar Eclipses demand release. They are course correctors, removing what no longer serves us so that we can walk in our highest truth.
This particular Virgo Full Moon Total Eclipse is conjunct the South Node, amplifying the theme of letting go. The South Node represents karmic patterns, comfort zones, and cycles that have outlived their purpose. Full Moons are always about both culmination and release, and with the South Node in play, we are not only seeing what is coming to fruition in Virgoan areas of life but also where we must loosen our grip. What in our daily lives (Virgo) has become more of a burden than a blessing? Are we clinging to routines, responsibilities, or perfectionism at the expense of our soul’s expansion? This is one of the main questions of this Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse, but there is so much more! Read on to find out all the nuances.
Side note: this particular Virgo Full Moon Total Eclipse is happening at 24° of Virgo, making it especially potent for those with planets or significant points around 24° of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, and Sagittarius. These individuals will feel the effects most intensely, as this eclipse will form conjunctions, oppositions, or squares to their natal placements, activating major shifts in those areas of life. Others will feel it, but perhaps not as intensely.
Virgo vs. Pisces: The Balance of the Tangible and the Mystical
Full moons are not only about highlighting whatever sign they are in, but also highlighting the balance of the polarity and overall axis that it is involved in. Virgo and Pisces exist on opposite ends of the zodiac but are deeply interconnected—both rule aspects of health and healing, but where Virgo governs the physical, practical, and tangible, Pisces rules the spiritual, emotional, and unseen realms.
- Virgo: The analyst, the perfectionist, the one who thrives on structure, discipline, and tangible results. Virgo energy is about organization, detail, and problem-solving, bringing the divine down to earth where it can be applied. However, when out of balance, Virgo can become overly critical, anxious, and obsessed with perfection—creating too many boundaries, restricting spontaneity, or struggling to surrender control.
- Pisces: The dreamer, the mystic, the one who feels everything but struggles to define it. Pisces energy flows with intuition, imagination, and boundless compassion, dissolving barriers and teaching us to trust the unknown. However, when imbalanced, Pisces can fall into escapism, addiction, self-sabotage, or martyrdom—getting lost in dreams but failing to take grounded action.
This Virgo Full Moon Total Eclipse illuminates the shadow sides of both signs and asks us to let go of the extremes. Are we clinging too much to perfectionism, micromanagement, or needing everything to be logical and provable (Virgo)? Or are we losing ourselves in illusions, avoiding responsibility, or using escapism as a coping mechanism (Pisces)? The lesson of this eclipse is to marry both energies—to trust the flow (Pisces) but also take grounded steps toward our dreams (Virgo).
The Sun in Pisces & The Neptune Factor: Dissolution Before Rebirth
While the Moon sits in Virgo, the Sun is in Pisces, conjunct Saturn at 22 degrees (within 2 degrees), the North Node at 27 degrees (within 4 degrees) and Neptune at 29° Pisces, the final degree of the zodiac (within 6 degrees). There is no doubt—this is a spiritual reckoning. What illusions have we been living under? Neptune, modern ruler of Pisces, at the 29th degree signals the end of an era, and soon, both Neptune (this month) and Saturn (later this year) will leave Pisces and enter Aries, initiating a massive shift in consciousness. Before we step forward, we must let go. What beliefs, dreams, or emotional entanglements are no longer aligned with our spiritual evolution? The shedding process is not just external—it is deeply internal, as Pisces is a sign that largely works behind the scenes.
As Saturn spends its final months in Pisces, we are experiencing the last waves of a lesson we have been working through since 2023. Really we are experiencing the last waves of a lesson, individually, that we have been working through since Neptune entered Pisces in 2011, and, collectively, since Neptune last left Pisces in 1861. Saturn in Pisces has been about spiritual discipline, emotional boundaries, and defining what we believe in. This transit has stripped away illusions, forcing us to face the reality of our faith, our emotional coping mechanisms, and how we navigate the unseen realms of life.
Now, as Saturn & Neptune inch closer to Aries, a massive shift is taking place: we are moving from surrender to self-assertion, from dissolution to action. The structures that have dissolved over the past two years have prepared us for self-leadership, responsibility, and claiming our identity in a whole new way.
This transition is a bridge between worlds—between the mysticism of Pisces and the raw individuation of Aries. Saturn has been teaching us how to ground our spiritual practices in reality, how to bring dreams into form. But Aries demands action. The time for dreaming is coming to an end—the time for building begins.

Mercury’s Role: The Messenger of Change & The Aries Eclipse Preview
The ruler of this Virgo Eclipse is Mercury, and within mere hours of this event, Mercury stations retrograde at 9° Aries—the exact degree of the upcoming Solar Eclipse in Aries in two weeks, which will be bringing in new things. This is no coincidence. Mercury is showing us that the reevaluation we do now is crucial to the rebirth that is coming. As Mercury retrogrades back into Pisces (with Venus), we are being given a second chance to reexamine our values, beliefs, and spiritual alignment before stepping into a new cycle. Mercury will still be in retrograde motion at the Solar Eclipse, and within 24 hours of that eclipse, it will meet Neptune at 0° Aries—the degree of pure initiation, the ultimate new beginning. Then, on April 17th, Mercury will meet Neptune again, now direct, at the same 0° Aries point. This is a massive storyline of release and rebirth, tied to Mercury-ruled themes: communication, learning, technology, mindset, and even psychic abilities coming online. When Mercury meets Neptune at 0° Aries upon turning direct, it is an unmistakable message: We are stepping into a brand new era, but only if we are willing to release the baggage of the old.
The Uranus Factor: Awakening Through Disruption
This Eclipse forms an exact trine/sextile to Uranus in Taurus, signaling a divine shake-up—but one that works in our favor. Revelations and awakenings are coming fast and hard, but they are gifts. Taurus themes—stability, resources, self-worth—are being redefined, and with Pluto now in Aquarius, we are seeing the long-term evolution of what truly holds value in our lives. Uranus rules Aquarius, where Pluto is working its magic, and Saturn—the great remover—is co-ruler of both Aquarius and Capricorn, continuing the great shedding. The old ways of measuring security and success are crumbling, but something more authentic is emerging.

Mars in Cancer: The Emotional Warrior & The Wound
Mars, the ruler of Mercury, is in Cancer, forming a supportive trine/sextile to this Eclipse also. Our drive is rooted in emotion, in protecting what matters most. Yet, Mars is also squaring Chiron in Aries, forcing us to confront where we feel vulnerable, unseen, or powerless. Are we letting our wounds dictate our choices? Or are we willing to heal and move forward with confidence? Mars in Cancer is deeply intuitive, emotionally reactive, and defensive—it fights for what it loves but can sometimes retreat into self-protective behaviors. This eclipse may highlight where we need to channel our emotional energy productively rather than reactively. How can we use our emotions as fuel for meaningful action rather than allowing them to keep us stuck in cycles of defensiveness or fear?

Jupiter in Gemini: Expanding Our Minds & Conversations
Jupiter, the ruler of Pisces, sits in Gemini—while not making major aspects, it plays a key role. Jupiter here expands knowledge, communication, and the way we process information. We are being asked to open our minds, to shift our perspectives, and to explore new ideas with curiosity instead of judgment. Jupiter in Gemini encourages learning, teaching, and exchanging ideas, making this eclipse a perfect time to reassess our belief systems, the way we communicate, and what knowledge we are seeking to expand. How do our words shape our reality? Are we consuming information that uplifts and educates us, or are we getting lost in mental distractions?

The Larger Picture: The Dance & Integration of the Pisces/Aries Energies & Merging the Old World With the New
This year’s astrology, and in to 2027, is marking a massive shift—from Pisces to Aries. The recent Venus transits kicked this off, and now, with Saturn, the North Node, Neptune, and Mercury all making key conjunctions, we are in the middle of a profound transition. The Age of Pisces was about devotion to something bigger than ourselves—surrendering to institutions, gods, ideologies. But Aries is self-initiated divinity. This shift is about realizing we hold God within us, and with the start of the Age of Aquarius with Pluto’s transition to Aquarius last fall, we are bringing the power back to ourselves (Aries) and the people collectively (Aquarius). But it won’t be right away. We first have Venus and Mercury going back and forth over this Pisces/Aries line, then we will have Neptune and Saturn do the same throughout this year and into next before fully settling into Aries.
While we have all these planets shifting from Pisces to Aries, we also just saw the Nodes of Fate shift from Aries to Pisces. This is a profound cosmic reversal—where before we were encouraged to step into our individual power (Aries North Node), we are now being asked to lean into the God within (Pisces North Node). This doesn’t mean throwing away our beliefs, spirituality, or faith, but rather realizing that we are not powerless. The divine is within us. We are being asked to balance surrender with self-initiation, intuition with action, receptivity with creation.
I see this back-and-forth over the next two years of the Pisces/Aries line as the marriage of faith and self-actualization. We are all splinters of the divine, walking our own journeys. The realization that we are all One, yet individually sovereign, is both terrifying and beautiful. This is the Armageddon—the end of an era. Not a physical end, but an awakening. Perhaps Christ’s return is not an external event—it is the realization that we, collectively, embody the divine. Heaven or Hell exists now, in our choices, in our values (Venus), in how we communicate and learn (Mercury), in how we serve and embody our purpose (Virgo).
Pisces is mutable water—like a flowing river, sometimes calm, sometimes stormy, with currents moving forward and backward. It teaches us to trust, surrender, and go with the flow. Aries, on the other hand, is cardinal fire—the initiatory spark, the drive to build something new, the courage to start. This eclipse asks us to marry these energies. How can we embrace both the receptivity of Pisces (flowing with the divine) and the active creation of Aries (taking action on our inspiration)? This is about balancing the masculine and feminine within us and balancing the Spirit and the Ego as well. It’s a tall order, but I believe we are up to the task.
