Weekly Astrology: November 1–7 — Making Room for Our Joy, Our Relationships & the Future

Brass balance scales, a golden sun with a heart, and flowing water beneath autumn stars, illustrating balance, creativity, and connection.

As we move into November, the main conversations happening in the sky are between Libra, Leo, and Aquarius, with Scorpio asking us to look a little deeper at all of it.

If we simply look at what these signs represent, Libra brings us into relationships, balance, fairness, law, and justice. Leo brings us back to our heart, our courage, our creativity, and the joy of being seen for who we really are. Aquarius asks us to consider the bigger picture: our communities, our hopes for the future, and the ways we can think outside the box.

So taking a big step back, how do we bring what makes us feel alive into the world? How does that connect us with others and influence the future we are creating? And as we seek to be seen and appreciated, do we allow other people that same room? Are we interested in their joy, their creativity, and their dreams, too?

Scorpio adds another question: how willing are we to see ourselves and each other deeply, intimately, and with grace? Can we acknowledge what is underneath a familiar pattern without deciding that the pattern is all we are?

There is room for some beautiful understanding this week. With both Venus and Mercury retrograde, much of it may come through something we have already lived, said, loved, or set aside. Perhaps we are finally ready to see it differently.

This post uses the tropical zodiac, the mean lunar Node, and whole sign houses. Dates are given for Mountain Time. How these themes show up will depend on your own life and natal chart.

This week at a glance

Sunday · Nov 1Venus trine the North Node; Last Quarter Moon. Revisit what feels fair and what still brings joy.
Tuesday · Nov 3Moon enters Virgo. Give an idea a practical place in your day.
Wednesday · Nov 4Mercury cazimi in Scorpio; Venus sextile Jupiter. Make room for insight and generosity.
Thursday · Nov 5Moon enters Libra; Mars enters shadow. Notice balance, motivation, and the plans worth revisiting.
Friday · Nov 6Jupiter draws closer to the South Node. Recognize familiar gifts and what you are carrying forward.
Saturday · Nov 7Moon enters Scorpio. Leave room for honesty, privacy, and deeper feeling.

Sunday, November 1 — Seeing familiar patterns differently

We begin the week with Venus retrograde in Libra trine the North Node in Aquarius around 26 degrees.

Venus retrograde can bring us back to past relationships, either through an actual person resurfacing or simply through a memory, a feeling, or a conversation we are still having within ourselves. In Libra, we may find ourselves considering what was fair, what we gave, what we received, and the agreements we made without ever really discussing them.

Did we keep the peace by putting our own needs aside? Did we expect another person to know what we wanted without saying it? Or were we so focused on being understood that we forgot to ask what the experience was like for them?

Venus is in a sign she rules here. Even while moving retrograde, she has access to the Libra tools of listening, negotiation, beauty, and finding common ground. We may be able to approach an old situation with more perspective and a little less defensiveness.

The North Node in Aquarius invites us to experiment with a different way of relating. Perhaps we realize a relationship does not have to follow the model we inherited. Perhaps a community introduces us to an idea that makes something click. Or perhaps we simply notice that an old pattern helped us get here, but does not need to determine where we go next.

Venus also speaks to our values and money. What do we believe we deserve? How do we value our own work and the work of others? Are our financial agreements fair to everyone involved? Collectively, this can be a useful lens for considering how resources circulate and whose contributions are recognized, without assuming one aspect will produce a particular financial outcome.

A trine can describe an opening that feels natural. Still, familiar patterns can feel natural, too. Notice what becomes easier when you allow yourself another perspective.

There is another piece to Sunday: the Last Quarter Moon in Leo, square the Sun in Scorpio. This begins a week of decreasing lunar light as we move toward the Scorpio New Moon on November 8 in Mountain Time. The Leo Moon wants expression and recognition; the Scorpio Sun asks what is emotionally true underneath that desire.

Perhaps something that once brought us joy has become a performance. Or perhaps we have been keeping something meaningful hidden because being seen feels vulnerable. Give yourself room to notice what has changed. We can make space for something new by first understanding what we are ready to finish.

Tuesday, November 3 — Giving our ideas somewhere to land

The Moon enters Virgo early Tuesday, bringing our emotional attention toward the practical pieces of life: our habits, our work, our routines, and the ways we care for ourselves.

After considering the bigger picture, we may feel ready to do something with it. What is one small change that would help? Could we put the idea on the calendar, organize the supplies, revise the plan, or make a little room in our day?

Virgo is an earth sign ruled by Mercury, so there is a connection between what we are thinking through and what we can actually put into practice. With Mercury retrograde, something we have already tried may need an adjustment. We may also notice a detail that makes a task much easier.

Try to give yourself the same grace you would give somebody learning something new. A routine can support you without becoming another standard you have to live up to.

Wednesday, November 4 — An understanding begins to take shape

Mercury retrograde meets the Sun at about 12 degrees of Scorpio today. At the heart of this conjunction is what astrologers call a Mercury cazimi, or Mercury “in the heart of the Sun.”

Traditionally, this very close meeting is treated differently from Mercury simply being near the Sun. It is a brief window within the conjunction, often interpreted as a moment of insight or renewed understanding.

With Mercury retrograde, that understanding may come from looking backward. An old conversation suddenly makes sense. We find words for something we have felt for a long time. We realize that the argument we keep having is about something much more vulnerable than the subject we keep arguing over.

In Scorpio, this could involve trust, intimacy, grief, control, shared resources, or a truth we have been reluctant to acknowledge. Scorpio is willing to look underneath the surface, but we still need to be thoughtful about what we find there. A strong feeling can be worth exploring without being the whole explanation.

If something becomes clear, write it down. Let yourself sit with it. There may be a conversation worth having, but you do not have to share an insight before you have had a chance to understand what it means for you. And if a practical matter needs your response, you can respond thoughtfully without waiting for perfect certainty.

Venus retrograde sextile Jupiter — A little room for generosity

Also today, Venus retrograde in Libra sextiles Jupiter in Leo at about 24 degrees.

It is always lovely to see the two benefics in conversation. Venus speaks to connection, pleasure, beauty, and what we value. Jupiter can bring perspective, generosity, encouragement, and a sense of possibility. Together, they may help us see something with more warmth.

Perhaps a past relationship becomes easier to understand with the wisdom of hindsight. An old creative idea starts to feel exciting again. A financial opportunity returns for another look, or somebody reminds us of a skill we have been undervaluing.

Jupiter in Leo can encourage us to share something from the heart. Maybe we have been waiting until we feel more confident, more polished, or more deserving of attention. This sextile may offer enough encouragement to take a small step.

A sextile gives us something to participate in. Reach out, revisit the idea, make time for something beautiful, or allow yourself to receive a compliment without immediately explaining it away.

And because Jupiter expands, notice where generosity becomes overextending yourself. We can appreciate an opportunity and still look carefully at its cost, its timing, and what we are agreeing to.

Thursday, November 5 — Balance, courage, and a story we will revisit

The Moon enters Libra today, bringing our emotional focus back to harmony and relationship. We may become more aware of the atmosphere between ourselves and another person, or feel drawn to make our surroundings a little more peaceful.

With Venus retrograde already asking us to reconsider our relationships and values, this can be a good time to notice what we call “balance.” Is everybody actually being considered? Can the relationship hold an honest conversation, including a little temporary discomfort?

Mars also enters its pre-retrograde shadow today, around 20 degrees 56 minutes of Leo. Mars is still moving direct. The shadow means it has reached the portion of the zodiac it will travel across again during its coming retrograde.

Here is the larger timeline:

November 5, 2026
Mars enters its shadow in Leo.

November 25
Mars enters Virgo.

January 10, 2027
Mars stations retrograde around 10 degrees of Virgo.

February 21
Mars moves back into Leo.

April 1
Mars stations direct around 20 degrees of Leo.

May 14
Mars enters Virgo again.

June 7
Mars leaves its post-retrograde shadow.

So the story involves both Leo and Virgo: what we want to create and pursue, and how we organize the effort needed to do it.

Mars describes our drive, our will, our anger, our boundaries, and how we take action. In Leo, that action may come from pride, courage, passion, or a desire to express something that matters deeply to us.

We may feel ready to go after a creative goal, stand up for ourselves, or stop giving our energy to something that leaves us feeling diminished. We may also notice how quickly we react when we feel overlooked.

As this longer cycle begins, pay attention to what motivates you. Are you acting from your heart? Are you trying to prove something? Is there a way to pursue what matters without using up all your energy at once?

There is no need to put your life on hold because Mars will eventually retrograde. Begin where you are, leave yourself room to learn, and notice which goals or frustrations may deserve another look over the coming months.

Friday, November 6 — Noticing what we are carrying forward

Jupiter in Leo comes within about one degree of its conjunction with the South Node and opposition to the North Node in Aquarius. This is building through the week rather than becoming exact today.

Using the mean Node, this alignment becomes exact on November 11, with two more exact contacts on March 1 and April 19, 2027. So what we begin noticing now is part of a larger story unfolding through next spring.

This is part of a larger conversation about the relationship between our own expression and our participation in something bigger.

The South Node can describe familiar territory, developed gifts, and things we are ready to release. Jupiter meeting it may bring an old skill back into use, help us recognize how much we have learned, or make a familiar way of seeking recognition feel a little too big to ignore.

Perhaps something we once enjoyed no longer fits. Perhaps we notice how much energy goes into being the person everybody expects us to be. Or perhaps a talent from the past finds a new purpose when we share it with a different group of people.

I would love to use this as an invitation to begin or return to a gratitude journal. What is supporting you? What do you already know how to do? What is making room for a different future?

Gratitude does not require us to call every loss a blessing. We can appreciate what is present and still acknowledge disappointment, grief, or uncertainty. Sometimes understanding comes much later.

The Leo–Aquarius conversation asks how our individual gifts can contribute to the whole. We still get to have a heart, a voice, and something that is uniquely ours. The question is what becomes possible when that expression also leaves space for other people.

Saturday, November 7 — Letting ourselves feel what is underneath

The Moon enters Scorpio Saturday afternoon, drawing us toward the deeper emotional questions Mercury and the Sun have been bringing into focus.

We may want more privacy, more honesty, or a conversation that goes beyond the usual updates. Feelings may be strong without being easy to show. Sometimes we want somebody to see us deeply and feel protective of ourselves at exactly the same time.

Scorpio can bring up questions around shared resources and what it means to depend on somebody. This might involve a partner’s income, debt, an investment, or the emotional agreements underneath a financial arrangement. What feels supportive? What needs to be spoken about more clearly?

As we approach the New Moon, give yourself some room to process. Journal, rest, or spend time with somebody who can listen without rushing you toward an answer.

We do not have to solve everything we uncover this week. Sometimes the first meaningful change is being willing to acknowledge it.

Where this may show up for you

Read your rising sign first, then your Sun sign, and then your Moon sign.

Your rising sign establishes the first house of your chart. In whole sign houses, the entire rising sign becomes your first house and the following signs become the following houses. That makes it the most direct starting point for locating these transits in specific areas of your life. An accurate birth time helps establish that rising sign.

Your Sun sign offers another perspective on identity, purpose, and what feels personally meaningful. Your Moon sign can add a layer around emotional needs, familiar reactions, and what helps you feel secure. Those readings use your Sun or Moon sign as a symbolic first house; they do not replace the houses established by your rising sign.

These are broad interpretations. Your natal planets and their degrees will add much more to the story.

Find your rising sign

AriesTaurusGeminiCancerLeoVirgoLibraScorpioSagittariusCapricornAquariusPisces

Aries rising

Libra is your seventh house of partnerships, Leo your fifth house of creativity, romance, and children, and Aquarius your eleventh house of friendships, communities, and future hopes. An old relationship pattern may become clearer when you consider whether there is room for both partnership and your own enjoyment. A creative project, a date, or time with your children could remind you of something you want more of. The question is how to make room for it within the relationships and communities you are choosing.

Mercury’s meeting with the Sun happens in your eighth house of shared resources, debt, and financial obligations. You may understand something about an agreement or what makes it difficult to ask for support. As Mars begins its longer cycle through your fifth and sixth houses, notice how your creative ambitions fit with your workload and daily routines. Joy deserves a practical place in your life.

Taurus rising

Venus, your chart ruler, is revisiting your sixth house of work, routines, service, and everyday care. Its sextile to Jupiter in your fourth house may help you see how a change at home could make daily life more manageable. Perhaps a household agreement needs revisiting, or a familiar space could support something you enjoy. With the North Node in your tenth house, these small decisions connect with bigger questions about your work and public direction.

The Mercury cazimi in your seventh house may bring insight into a partnership, client relationship, or important agreement. What needs to be understood before the next step? Mars will revisit your fourth and fifth houses during its longer cycle, linking home and family matters with creativity, children, or romance. Leave room for your plans to develop as you learn what support you actually need.

Gemini rising

Venus retrograde is in your fifth house of creativity, romance, children, and pleasure, connecting with Jupiter in your third house of communication, learning, and local life. An old idea may find its way into a class, a conversation, or something you finally feel ready to write or share. A familiar connection could remind you how good it feels to be curious and playful. Aquarius in your ninth house asks how those experiences might widen your perspective.

Your sixth house hosts the Mercury cazimi, making this a useful week to reconsider how you organize your work and daily responsibilities. Perhaps you see why a routine has been difficult to maintain and can make it more realistic. Mars’ longer third-to-fourth-house story connects communication and local commitments with home and family. Notice whether saying yes to everything leaves enough energy for the life you want to enjoy.

Cancer rising

Venus retrograde is revisiting your fourth house of home, family, and roots, while Jupiter in your second house highlights income, possessions, and what you value. A family conversation or an old idea for using your resources could offer a new possibility. You may also notice where keeping everybody comfortable has become expensive, financially or emotionally. With Aquarius in your eighth house, shared obligations and the way you receive support are part of the bigger picture.

The Mercury cazimi in your fifth house may help you reconnect with a creative desire or understand something about romance, parenting, or pleasure. What have you been missing because it did not seem practical enough to prioritize? Mars’ longer cycle through your second and third houses asks you to reconsider how you pursue income, use your skills, and communicate your needs. Start noticing which efforts feel worth your energy.

Leo rising

With Jupiter and Mars in your first house, your own direction, energy, and desire to be seen are central to this week. Venus retrograde in your third house may bring an old conversation, a familiar local connection, or a writing idea back into view. Its sextile to Jupiter could help you say something with more warmth and confidence. The North Node in your seventh house asks you to remain curious about the person on the other side of the conversation.

Mercury’s meeting with the Sun in your fourth house may illuminate a family story or something you need in order to feel at home. As Mars begins a longer cycle through your first and second houses, notice the connection between what you want to do and the resources available to support it. You can be courageous and still give yourself permission to revise the plan.

Virgo rising

Venus retrograde is moving through your second house of money, possessions, and values. Its connection with Jupiter in your twelfth house may help you recognize the value of something you do quietly or have not yet felt ready to share. An old skill, private creative practice, or period of reflection could become meaningful again. The North Node in your sixth house asks how you can support that insight through daily habits and a more sustainable workload.

The Mercury cazimi falls in your third house of communication, learning, siblings, and local life. A conversation or piece of information may help something make sense. Write down what you are noticing, especially if you have been trying to find the right words. Mars’ longer cycle will move between your twelfth and first houses, inviting you to consider the relationship between private effort, rest, and taking visible action.

Libra rising

Venus, your chart ruler, is retrograde in your first house. You may be reconsidering how you present yourself, what you want, and whether the way others know you still reflects who you are becoming. Jupiter in your eleventh house can bring encouragement through friends or a community, while the North Node in your fifth house asks what you actually enjoy. A group’s approval can feel wonderful, but your own creative satisfaction deserves a place in the conversation.

Mercury’s meeting with the Sun in your second house may illuminate a money question, a pricing decision, or a belief about what your work is worth. Mars’ longer cycle through your eleventh and twelfth houses asks you to review the energy you give to shared goals and the time you need away from public demands. You can care about people and still need some room to yourself.

Scorpio rising

Venus retrograde in your twelfth house may bring private reflections on old relationships, values, or something you are ready to make peace with. Its sextile to Jupiter in your tenth house could connect that inner understanding with a professional opportunity or a new perspective on your public role. With Aquarius in your fourth house, growth also involves considering the home life and foundations that support you.

The Mercury cazimi happens in your first house, making this a personal moment of reconsideration. Perhaps you find language for what you want, or realize that a familiar description of yourself no longer fits. Mars, your traditional chart ruler, begins a longer cycle through your tenth and eleventh houses. Pay attention to your ambitions, collaborations, and whose expectations are shaping your goals. There is room to revise what success means to you.

Sagittarius rising

Venus retrograde in your eleventh house can bring old friendships, collaborators, or future plans back into focus. Its sextile to Jupiter, your chart ruler, in your ninth house may reconnect you with a course, a teacher, a journey, or an idea that once inspired you. A conversation with somebody who shares your interests could open up a possibility you had put aside. Aquarius in your third house asks how you can bring that wider vision into everyday learning and communication.

The Mercury cazimi in your twelfth house may arrive as a quiet realization that needs some privacy. You may understand why a plan stopped feeling meaningful or recognize something you have been carrying without discussing it. Mars’ longer cycle through your ninth and tenth houses connects study, beliefs, and exploration with your public direction. Let your ambitions respond to what you are learning.

Capricorn rising

Venus retrograde is revisiting your tenth house of career, reputation, and public responsibilities. An old professional connection or a previous idea for your work may deserve another look. Jupiter in your eighth house can bring questions of shared support, funding, or obligations into that review, while the North Node in your second house asks what strengthens your own resources and sense of value. Encouragement can be useful, and so can a clear agreement.

Mercury’s meeting with the Sun in your eleventh house may clarify a friendship, a collaboration, or a hope you have been trying to turn into a plan. Who is participating, and what is everybody actually agreeing to? Mars’ longer cycle through your eighth and ninth houses connects shared resources with education, travel, or a larger direction. Consider what a meaningful next step would require before committing yourself to the whole journey.

Aquarius rising

The North Node in your first house places growth around your own direction, while Jupiter and Mars in your seventh house bring energy to partnerships, clients, and important one-to-one relationships. Venus retrograde in your ninth house may help you reconsider a belief about relationships or revisit something you learned from a teacher, course, or past experience. Its sextile to Jupiter could create an opening for a generous conversation, especially if you leave room for another perspective.

The Mercury cazimi in your tenth house may illuminate a professional question or the way you want to be known for your work. A plan you have been reconsidering could begin to make more sense. Mars’ longer seventh-to-eighth-house cycle asks you to notice how partnership agreements connect with shared money, trust, and responsibilities. What needs to be discussed so both people can participate more honestly?

Pisces rising

Venus retrograde in your eighth house brings attention to shared money, trust, and what you give or receive within close relationships. Its sextile to Jupiter in your sixth house may help you see how a practical change at work or in your routines could ease a shared responsibility. The North Node in your twelfth house asks whether there is also room for quiet, reflection, and rest. Being supportive does not mean every available hour has to become useful to somebody else.

The Mercury cazimi in your ninth house may bring a different understanding of something you have studied or believed. You might revisit a course, a writing project, or a larger life question with more honesty about what matters now. Mars’ longer cycle through your sixth and seventh houses links your workload with partnerships and agreements. Notice where a clearer division of responsibilities could leave more energy for connection.

A little reflection to carry into the week

Where am I asking to be seen, and where could I offer somebody else that same generosity?

What familiar gift, relationship, or opportunity deserves another look?

What would make room for more joy in the life I am actually living?

There is a lot to sit with this week, and we do not need to figure out the whole future at once. Notice what becomes clearer. Give yourself time to understand it. And if something reminds you of who you are and what you love, make a little room for it.

Want to explore what this means in your own life?

If something in this week’s astrology feels familiar, we can look at how it connects with your own chart. Maybe you’re reconsidering a relationship, finding your way back to something you love, or wondering what comes next. You don’t have to know all the houses and aspects before reaching out. That’s what I’m here for.
