Weekly Astrology: October 25–31 — Taurus Full Moon, Finding Our Footing & Speaking from the Heart

This week starts out with a Full Moon in Taurus, and I feel like the question underneath a lot of it is: what is actually supporting us? What makes us feel stable, nourished and rooted in our lives? And are the ways we’re sharing our money, time, energy and ourselves supporting that—or pulling us away from it?
There’s some charge to this one. Pluto is very much part of the conversation, Venus is still retrograde, and Mercury is now retrograde too. So we may be seeing things we can’t quite unsee, while still figuring out what we want to do about them. Let’s get into it.
Dates below are in Denver/Mountain Time. The Full Moon falls late Sunday, October 25 here; calendars using Eastern Time or UTC show October 26.
Sunday, October 25: Full Moon in Taurus at 2°45′
I like to break Full Moons down in steps. First, what is a Full Moon? It’s when the Sun and Moon oppose each other in the sky and the Moon appears fully illuminated. Astrologically, this is a time when things are illuminated for us too. We can check in on what we’ve been working toward since the New Moon and see where we might need to restore some balance. Sometimes a longer story is coming to a head as well.
Are we remaining so focused in one area that we’re neglecting another? The Moon, our emotions, can feel like it’s yelling at us: hey! Don’t forget about over here! Our emotional guidance system at its finest. Lol. That doesn’t mean every feeling is a fact or an instruction to act immediately. But it is worth listening to what it’s trying to tell us.
Next, what sign is it in? That gives us a clue about what needs a closer look. This Full Moon is in Taurus, a fixed earth sign. Taurus can be one of the most stubborn signs, but it’s also one of the most grounded. It’s where we seek stability, comfort, beauty and the feeling of being rooted in something. It speaks to our values, our possessions, our bodies and how we nourish ourselves. On a broader level, that includes food systems, agriculture and our relationship with the earth.
So we might ask: do I feel like I have any stability? Am I finding the beauty in life? Am I living in a way that reflects what I say my values are? How am I nourishing myself and my environment? And is what I’m calling comfort actually supporting me, or is it just familiar?
Then we add the opposite sign. The Sun is in Scorpio, bringing intimacy, vulnerability, trust and shared resources into the picture. Taurus asks about what is mine and what sustains me. Scorpio asks what happens when I share that with someone else. This can be our own income versus mutual resources, but it can also be our sense of self-reliance versus our willingness to receive support.
Neither side gets to be the whole answer. We need our own footing, and we also live in relationship with other people. Are our agreements fair? Are we sharing willingly, or giving because we’re afraid of what will happen if we stop? Are we refusing help because receiving it feels too vulnerable?
For another layer, look at where Taurus falls in your chart. For me, this falls in my 4th house, so I’ll be looking at the stability, comfort and rootedness I feel in my home environment. I’ve included each rising sign below so you can find your own life areas.
The Full Moon’s conversations: Pluto, power and what needs to change
Now, what conversations is the Full Moon having with the other planets? This one forms a T-square with Pluto in Aquarius. The Sun and Moon oppose each other, and both square Pluto. So there’s pressure to look underneath the surface. What are we holding onto? Where are we giving our power away? Where might we be trying to control something because we don’t feel safe?
This could highlight power struggles, but it can also bring deep self-awareness. A long-held belief about money, security or needing someone else’s approval may suddenly be easier to see. The point isn’t to shame ourselves for having that pattern. It’s to recognize it well enough that we have a choice about what happens next.
With Pluto in Aquarius, I also think about how these questions extend into the collective. How do we help each other as communities? Who has access to resources, and who gets to make the decisions about them? What happens when our financial systems don’t reflect the values we say we hold? These are themes we can reflect on without assuming that this one Full Moon will produce a specific societal event.
Venus rules this Full Moon, and she has just moved backward into Libra. She’s still close to the Sun and separating from her square to Pluto, although those aspects now cross sign boundaries. So the relationship and value questions we’ve been exploring in Scorpio are coming back into Libra’s territory: fairness, reciprocity, cooperation and the balance between me and we.
We may feel that something is shifting without knowing exactly what to do yet. That’s okay. An honest look at an agreement, a budget, a boundary or the way we talk to ourselves is already something. We don’t have to overhaul our entire lives in one emotionally charged evening.
Where can we find some breathing room?
One way I like to work with a T-square is to look at the sign opposite its focal planet. Here, that’s Leo, opposite Pluto in Aquarius. It’s the missing corner of the pattern, and it can offer a useful quality to practice: listen to your heart. Remember what brings you joy. Be willing to be yourself and move forward with courage.
That doesn’t mean Leo automatically fixes everything. Mars is already in Leo, although far from the early degrees of this Full Moon’s T-square, and later this week he’ll have his own tense conversation with Mercury. So there’s a difference between acting from the heart and acting from wounded pride. We can stand up for ourselves without turning every disagreement into a contest.
I also look for supportive aspects. In the background, Uranus in Gemini and Neptune in Aries are still part of a supportive triangle with Pluto: Uranus and Neptune form a trine, with each sextiling Pluto. This is the configuration I’ve been calling the Divine Mini Grand Trine. These are longer-term influences, rather than something that begins and ends with this Full Moon.
There’s room here for imagination, inner wisdom and a different way of looking at things. An unexpected idea or conversation may help us see another possibility. We can stay open to that and still check the practical details. We don’t have to decide that every disruption is a sign we should follow.
If you’re spiraling, come back to something Taurus understands. Eat something nourishing. Step outside. Make something with your hands. Notice what is actually here, in this moment, before trying to solve the whole future. This Full Moon flavors the week, but of course, as the week progresses, so does the sky.
Monday, October 26: Sun in Scorpio square Pluto in Aquarius
Now the Sun’s square to Pluto becomes exact. Some of what came up with the Full Moon may feel harder to ignore. This can bring power struggles, jealousy, fears about losing control, or the urge to keep digging until we have an answer we can feel safe with.
Be careful not to spiral. There’s a difference between looking honestly at something and replaying it until we’ve convinced ourselves of the worst possible explanation. Ask what you actually know, what you’re afraid of, and what is within your power to change.
This can also bring fortitude. We may be more willing to face a difficult truth, let something go, or begin rebuilding in a way that fits who we’re becoming. Take one real step. A clear boundary or a changed habit may do more than trying to force someone else to understand us.
Tuesday, October 27: Moon enters Gemini
Tuesday evening, the Moon enters Gemini, bringing more attention to our thoughts, conversations, nearby community and the things we want to learn. After all that fixed-sign intensity, it may help to get curious. Is there another way of understanding what happened?
This can also be a nice time to write, talk something through, or do something with our hands. Just notice when gathering information turns into feeding the mental spin. With Mercury retrograde, reread the message and ask the clarifying question before assuming you know what someone meant.
Wednesday, October 28: Venus retrograde in Libra opposite Chiron retrograde in Aries
This could be a difficult day, an enlightening day, or a little of both. An old relationship pattern, an old value system or an old way of earning money may touch a familiar wound. Do I have to make everyone happy to be loved? Am I allowed to ask for more? What happens if I stop being the easy one?
I think this can be a chance to witness how far we’ve come. Something familiar showing up doesn’t mean we’ve made no progress. Maybe we recognize it sooner. Maybe we can speak up now. Maybe we still feel the hurt, but we don’t abandon ourselves to make it disappear.
Notice where there’s still room to grow, but also be proud of yourself. We can care about another person’s experience and still have needs of our own. We can acknowledge an old wound without asking a current relationship to carry the weight of every past one. And we don’t have to reopen a connection just because it comes to mind.
Thursday, October 29: Moon enters Cancer
Thursday evening, the Moon moves into Cancer. Our emotions may turn more toward home, family, belonging and the people or places where we feel safe enough to soften. After a week of looking at some uncomfortable things, we may just want to retreat a little. Honor that.
Make yourself a meal. Spend time with someone you feel comfortable around. Give yourself a quieter evening if you can. Also notice whether retreating helps you feel restored or leaves you alone replaying the same story. Sometimes care looks like solitude, and sometimes it looks like asking someone to sit with us.
Friday, October 30: Mercury retrograde in Scorpio square Mars in Leo
Okay, this one can feel like our mind and our drive are arguing with each other. Mercury retrograde in Scorpio wants to revisit, investigate and understand what’s underneath. Mars in Leo wants to act, create, be seen and move toward what the heart wants. One part of us may be saying, wait, I still need to figure this out, while another is saying, can we PLEASE just do something already? Lol.
That friction can show up internally, but it can also come out through our words. We may be more impatient, more suspicious, or quicker to hear criticism where someone intended a question. Scorpio can go straight for the thing that hurts, and Leo can feel very protective of its pride. So we may know exactly what to say to win an argument. That doesn’t mean we need to say it.
An old conversation or frustration may come back for another look. Before responding, ask yourself: what am I actually trying to communicate? Am I asking to be understood, or trying to make someone feel what I’m feeling? Am I protecting something that matters to me, or protecting my need to be right?
This brings us back to that Leo corner of the Full Moon pattern. Listening to our hearts is useful. Demanding that everyone agree with us is a different thing. Courage might mean saying what we need plainly. It might mean admitting that we misunderstood something. It might mean letting someone see the tender feeling underneath the anger.
There’s productive energy here too. We can revisit a creative project, edit something we’ve been afraid to share, or work out what needs to change before we move forward. Give the frustration somewhere useful to go. Draft the message, take a break, then reread it. Move your body. Make something. Double-check plans and leave a little extra time instead of trying to push through everything in a hurry.
We don’t need to silence ourselves. We need enough space between the feeling and the response to choose words and actions that actually serve what we want.
Saturday, October 31: Give yourself time to put the pieces together
We end the week with the Moon still in Cancer. Nothing says we have to have a finished plan for every realization by Saturday. What did we learn about what supports us? What conversation needs a calmer second attempt? What small change would help us feel more at home in our own lives?
And if you’re celebrating Halloween, let there be some fun in there too. We’ve done plenty of digging. We’re still allowed to enjoy ourselves.
How this may show up for your sign
Read your rising sign first for the areas of life these events may be calling your attention toward. The houses below use the Western tropical zodiac and whole-sign houses. Your Sun sign can add a layer around purpose, confidence, career and where you may feel more willpower to act. Your Moon sign can speak to how you may experience the themes emotionally or at home.
The house numbers are mapped from each sign as the rising sign; reading your Sun or Moon sign is an additional symbolic lens. Career isn’t determined by the Sun alone, and your full birth chart will always tell a more personal story. Take what resonates and notice what is actually unfolding for you.
Aries
2nd / 8th houses; Pluto in your 11th. The Full Moon lights up your 2nd house of income, possessions and self-worth, opposite the Sun in your 8th house of shared finances, debts and intimacy. Where do you need firmer footing of your own, and where do you need a more honest agreement about what you share? Pluto in your 11th brings friends, communities and future plans into the conversation. Notice whether belonging to a group is supporting your values or asking you to compromise something important.
Friday’s square connects Mercury in your 8th with Mars in your 5th house of creativity, pleasure, romance and children. A shared expense or a sensitive conversation could clash with something you really want to do. Can you make room for joy without skipping the practical conversation? Speak honestly about the cost, the fear or the need underneath it, rather than feeling you have to defend wanting something for yourself.
Taurus
1st / 7th houses; Pluto in your 10th. This is your Full Moon, lighting up your 1st house of self, body and identity, opposite the Sun in your 7th house of close relationships and agreements. How much room is there for you in the life you’re sharing with others? Pluto in your 10th adds career, public expectations and responsibility. You may be noticing that the version of you everyone relies on needs something different now. Listen to that without assuming you have to make every change at once.
Friday connects Mercury in your 7th with Mars in your 4th house of home, family and roots. An old relationship conversation could bump into a strong need to protect your home or have things done your way there. What would actually help you feel secure? Say that part. Try not to let a disagreement about a household detail become a verdict on whether the other person cares.
Gemini
12th / 6th houses; Pluto in your 9th. The Full Moon falls in your 12th house of rest, solitude and patterns operating behind the scenes, opposite the Sun in your 6th house of work, daily routines and care for your body. Have you been treating rest like something you can earn only after everything is done? Pluto in your 9th asks you to examine the beliefs or bigger plans that keep that cycle going. There may be something you can release in the way you define being useful or successful.
Friday’s square connects Mercury in your 6th with Mars in your 3rd house of communication, learning and everyday errands. A busy schedule, a repeated instruction or a conversation with someone nearby could test your patience. Before answering sharply, check whether you’re frustrated with the person or stretched too thin. Simplify the plan, clarify the details and give yourself a useful outlet for that very busy mind.
Cancer
11th / 5th houses; Pluto in your 8th. The Full Moon lights up your 11th house of friends, community and future hopes, opposite the Sun in your 5th house of creativity, romance, children and pleasure. Are you making room for what you love, or mostly showing up for what the group needs? Pluto in your 8th adds questions about shared money, trust and what you feel you owe. You can value a connection and still reconsider the emotional or financial commitments attached to it.
Friday connects Mercury in your 5th with Mars in your 2nd house of income and self-worth. A creative idea, a child-related expense or something you want to enjoy may rub up against your budget or your feelings about what you deserve. Get specific about the numbers before turning it into a story about your worth. There may be a way to support the joy while adjusting the plan.
Leo
10th / 4th houses; Pluto in your 7th. The Full Moon lands in your 10th house of career, reputation and public responsibility, opposite the Sun in your 4th house of home, family and emotional foundations. What does success mean if the life underneath it doesn’t feel supportive? Pluto in your 7th brings close relationships and agreements into that question. Notice where another person’s expectations influence the role you feel you have to play, and where a clearer agreement could help.
Friday’s square connects Mercury in your 4th with Mars in your 1st house of self, body and identity. You may feel very ready to stand up for yourself while an old family story or private worry pulls you back into defensiveness. Come back to the Leo qualities we talked about: heart, warmth and courage. You can be firm about who you are without needing to overpower the room. A pause may help you say what you really mean.
Virgo
9th / 3rd houses; Pluto in your 6th. The Full Moon illuminates your 9th house of beliefs, education, travel and the bigger picture, opposite the Sun in your 3rd house of communication, learning and daily surroundings. Does the life you’re living day to day reflect what you believe matters? Pluto in your 6th brings work, routines and your capacity into the picture. A meaningful vision needs a daily structure that supports it, and you’re allowed to change a routine that no longer does.
Friday connects Mercury in your 3rd with Mars in your 12th house of privacy, rest and what’s been pushed out of sight. Something you haven’t said may come out more sharply than you intended. Give yourself somewhere private to sort it first: write, walk, or talk to someone you trust. Then decide what actually needs communicating. Every thought doesn’t need an audience, but an important need deserves words.
Libra
8th / 2nd houses; Pluto in your 5th. The Full Moon lights up your 8th house of shared resources, debts, intimacy and trust, opposite the Sun in your 2nd house of your own income, values and self-worth. What are you giving, receiving or carrying together? Pluto in your 5th brings creativity, romance, pleasure or children into the discussion. Notice whether a financial or emotional agreement still leaves room for a life you enjoy. With your ruler Venus retrograde in Libra, you may be reconsidering your own part in these patterns too.
Friday connects Mercury in your 2nd with Mars in your 11th house of friendships, groups and future plans. A group expense, a difference in values or a conversation about what you charge could feel personal. You don’t have to prove your generosity by agreeing to something you can’t support. Say what works for you clearly, and leave room for someone else to have a different limit.
Scorpio
7th / 1st houses; Pluto in your 4th. The Full Moon falls in your 7th house of partnership and agreements, opposite the Sun in your 1st house of self and identity. A relationship may show you something about who you’re becoming and what you need now. Pluto in your 4th brings home, family and old emotional foundations into the picture. Is the current dynamic responding to the present, or repeating something that once felt necessary for safety? You can take your own needs seriously while hearing the other person’s.
Friday connects Mercury retrograde in your 1st with Mars in your 10th house of career, visibility and responsibility. You may be rethinking how you want to express yourself while feeling pressure to act certain or decisive in public. Be careful with the rushed email or the urge to prove a point to an authority figure. Revise what needs revising, then communicate the next step you can actually stand behind.
Sagittarius
6th / 12th houses; Pluto in your 3rd. The Full Moon lights up your 6th house of work, routines and everyday care, opposite the Sun in your 12th house of rest, privacy and inner processing. What is your daily life asking of you, and what do you actually have capacity for? Pluto in your 3rd brings communication, mental habits and everyday commitments into that balance. Notice the stories that keep you saying yes when you need a quieter pace. A practical adjustment may be more useful than another promise to push through.
Friday connects Mercury in your 12th with Mars in your 9th house of beliefs, learning, travel and big plans. A private doubt could clash with the urge to defend your vision or convince someone you’re right. Give yourself permission to investigate the doubt without abandoning the dream. Check the details, revise the plan, and remember that you can believe in something while still learning how to do it.
Capricorn
5th / 11th houses; Pluto in your 2nd. The Full Moon falls in your 5th house of joy, creativity, romance and children, opposite the Sun in your 11th house of community, friendships and future goals. What do you want to make or enjoy for its own sake? Pluto in your 2nd adds money, values and self-worth. You may be looking at whether everything you love has to earn money or serve a larger goal before you can justify it. Your resources matter, and so does having something in your life that makes you feel alive.
Friday connects Mercury in your 11th with Mars in your 8th house of shared finances, debts and emotional entanglements. An old group plan or friendship conversation may raise questions about who is contributing what. Clarify the commitment before taking on more. If resentment is building, it may be time for a direct conversation about the agreement rather than hoping someone will notice.
Aquarius
4th / 10th houses; Pluto in your 1st. The Full Moon lights up your 4th house of home, family and roots, opposite the Sun in your 10th house of career and public responsibility. This is the one I’ll be looking at personally too. What makes home feel stable and supportive, and how does that fit with what we’re trying to build out in the world? Pluto in your 1st brings your changing identity into the middle of it. Some expectations may need adjusting because you’re not quite the same person you were when you agreed to them.
Friday connects Mercury in your 10th with Mars in your 7th house of partners, clients and close agreements. A conversation about your work or direction could clash with someone else’s wants or timing. Try not to turn a difference into a struggle over who gets to decide everything. What belongs to you to choose, and what needs a shared agreement? Being clear about that can give the conversation somewhere useful to go.
Pisces
3rd / 9th houses; Pluto in your 12th. The Full Moon lands in your 3rd house of communication, learning and daily surroundings, opposite the Sun in your 9th house of beliefs, education and the bigger picture. Something you hear or notice nearby may challenge a story you’ve held for a long time. Pluto in your 12th brings hidden fears or patterns into the conversation. You don’t have to settle the whole question immediately. Start by separating what you know from what you’ve assumed, and give yourself permission to ask another question.
Friday connects Mercury in your 9th with Mars in your 6th house of work, routines and daily responsibilities. You may want to rethink a big plan while everyday demands keep insisting that you hurry up. Check whether the plan fits the time and energy you actually have. A workable schedule, a clarified instruction or a smaller first step can help you move toward the vision without fighting your way through the whole day.
